Emergency repairs have been completed by InnServices and full water service has been restored to residents in the Gilford area.
At approximately 4 p.m., water service in the area was interrupted so crews could safely complete an emergency repair to the Gilford valve. During this time, there was reduced pressure in the system. As water is restored, you may experience air in plumbing or discolouration in water. It is recommended that you run your cold water taps for a few minutes to flush out any sediment that may have accumulated within your water service line and any trapped air.
The Town of Innisfil and InnServices are grateful to the community for their patience and cooperation as crews completed the necessary repair work. InnServices and the Town of Innisfil are advising the public about an interruption to the water service in the Gilford area.
This is necessary while our operators complete an emergency repair to fix a leak. During this time there will be reduced pressure in the system.
We ask that affected residents refrain from using appliances that require water, bathing or showering so that Innisfil Fire & Rescue Services has access to an ample supply of water, and to avoid a failure of the system.
InnServices has taken steps to maintain the water quality and there is no impact to the safety of the drinking water.
