Beautiful weather helped kick off the 2023 NASCAR Advanced Auto Parts Weekly Series at Sunset Speedway. A great turn out of race teams and fans led to a great night of racing.
Visiting drivers Jake Sheridan and Kyle Steckley took wins in the twin 35-lap feature events for the GD Coates Used Car Super Store Late Models.
Andy Kamrath secured the first ever weekly racing win in the newly formed Seaton Structures Modified Division while Veteran Dwayne Baker debuted a new St. Onge Recreation Super Stock, securing a win over two of the top drivers in the division of 2022 in McAllister and Morrison.
Three-time Sunset Track Champion Doug Butler scored the win in the Struyk Energy Systems Mini Stock Division as he declared he will chase a fourth championship in 2023.
Defending Track Champion Jake Spencer-Walt kicked off his title defence with a hat trick, winning both his qualifying races and feature event while Josh Davenport finished a strong second in his first ever race getting past Keegan Moat late in the going.
