Jack Russell Stokes, born in Oshawa, ON on April 2, 1929, peacefully passed away on April 14, 2024, in Innisfil, ON in the loving arms of his wife and daughter, and surrounded by the loving care of his family, just as he had always been.

Jack was a beloved husband to Doreen, with whom he shared an inspiring union of 73 years of marriage and 75 years as best friends. He loved Doreen immensely & doted on her. Jack and Doreen were joined at the hip, doing everything together - travelling, going to dances (Jack was particularly good at "the jive"), and visiting the casinos where he was always lucky!  Jack also had a very sweet tooth!

He was a real family man and none of them ever doubted his love for them.  His memory will be cherished by his children: Danny (Peggy) and Doreen Lee (Rick). He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Kristin Gassmann (Henry), Nicki Hunze, Terri Raynard (Rich), and great-grandchildren: Jenna, Kailyn, Chloe, and Brehanna.

In addition to his immediate family, Jack is survived by his brother Ted Stokes (Alda) and sister-in-law Eileen Sweeting (Wayne). He was a source of joy and strength to all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

A real jokester, Jack had a quick wit and great sense of humor.  Jack's kind nature and warm personality touched the lives of many. He faced life with courage and grace until the very end. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Chung Kit (Jacky) Lai and staff for their exceptional care. Special thanks also go to Home Community Care and Support Services, nurse Tina Welch, PSW Margaret Guywue, and Palliative Care Coordinator Tracy Langre for their unwavering support.

As we mourn Jack's passing, let us also celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the love he shared with those around him. May his memory be a blessing that continues to inspire us all.

A Celebration of Life in Jack's honor will be held at a later date.
