Barrie firefighters battle a second-floor blaze at a townhouse complex early Saturday.

A fire on the second floor of a Barrie townhouse complex was mostly contained to one bedroom Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to Ferris Lane shortly after 7:30 a.m., Oct. 21, and controlled the blaze.

Everyone got out safely and there were no injuries, according to Barrie Fire and Emergency Service (BFES).

The cause has not been determined and there is no damage estimate, but BFES investigators are expected to be on-scene Saturday.

“There’s quite a bit of damage in the bedroom,” said Deputy Fire Chief Derek Wilson, “but the bedroom door was closed, so it didn’t spread quite as much as it could have if the bedroom door was open, so it was contained to the one room.”
