A 41-year-old man is facing several charges after South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a domestic-related call with a possible person in crisis.

On Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020 around 9:30 a.m., a female victim reported to police an incident that occurred two days prior in another jurisdiction where a man known to her threatened to harm others and himself. The male suspect subsequently went to a residence in the Innisfil Beach Road and St. Johns Road area of Innisfil where he barricaded himself inside and refused to communicate with police. A warrant to enter the residence was obtained.

On Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 shortly after 1 a.m., entry was gained with assistance from the tactical team and the man was arrested without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old Innisfil man was charged with utter threats, assault, possession of property obtained by crime, and take motor vehicle without consent. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

No one was injured in the incident. The man's name is not being released due to the domestic-related nature of the incident.
