Barrie woman faces impaired charges after collision in Innisfil

A 28-year-old Barrie woman was charged with impaired and dangerous driving following a single-vehicle collision in the Town of Innisfil.

On Friday, July 29, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the South Simcoe Police Service, Innisfil Fire and Rescue Service and County of Simcoe Paramedic Services attended a single-vehicle collision on the 20th Sideroad south of the 7th Line. Upon arrival, police discovered a vehicle had gone in the ditch and struck a hydro pole. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was extricated by firefighters and transported to hospital by paramedics.

The injuries were non-life-threatening.

As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Chelsea Fleming of Barrie was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired (excess blood-alcohol) and dangerous operation. The accused's licence was suspended for 90 days. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The South Simcoe Police Service is urging everyone to celebrate the long weekend responsibly.
