In a post on X, the social-media platform formerly known as Twitter, South Simcoe police detailed the incident Sunday afternoon. They report the vehicle was observed going 96 kilometres per hour in a posted 50 km/h zone along Dissette Street.

The man, 45, was then charged with stunt driving, failing to surrender a driver’s licence, failing to surrender a permit and failing to surrender an insurance card.

He was also handed a 30-day licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
