A Bradford man is facing charges after a man was struck by a vehicle during an alleged road-rage incident Tuesday in Innisfil.

At about 5:20 p.m., South Simcoe police responded to the 9th Line, where a 35-year-old Barrie man had been struck. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the incident “occurred in heavy traffic when the suspect vehicle reversed into the victim’s vehicle.”

“The victim was struck after getting out of his vehicle in an attempt to stop the suspect vehicle from leaving. The suspect vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed," police stated in a news release.

The suspect was located and pulled over on Sideroad 10 in Bradford West Gwillimbury, but he fled the scene in the vehicle, according to police. Officers boxed the vehicle in and it came to a stop, and the driver was arrested without incident.

Joshua Wheatley, 21, has been charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from peace officers, assault with a weapon, and failure to stop after an accident. He was held for a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
