Bradford residents charged with impaired driving-related offences

One person arrested at RIDE checkpoint; second charged after vehicle driven into drainage ditch

South Simcoe police have charged two people with impaired driving-related offences in Bradford in the past week.

On Jan. 7 at about 12:30 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE check near Northgate Drive and Fletcher Street. An interaction with a driver led to an arrest.

A 47-year-old Bradford woman was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired (excess blood-alcohol). Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.

At about 2:45 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a single-vehicle collision in the area of Holland Street and Melbourne Drive. A vehicle had been driven into a drainage ditch beside a driveway.

A 78-year-old Bradford woman was issued a three-day warn-range suspension and was charged with careless driving.
