Driver injured after car leaves Hwy. 400, rolls down hill

Crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. south of Essa Road in Barrie; all lanes have reopened

OPP officers and Barrie Fire crews responded to a crash this morning after a vehicle left Highway 400's southbound lanes near Essa Road. The car rolled down a hill into a drainage ditch.

Provincial police say the female driver of a car involved in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 400 in Barrie this morning has been sent to local hospital with minor injuries.

At 8:55 a.m. on April 17, Ontario Provincial Police received a call about a vehicle that had left the highway's southbound lanes, just south of Essa Road, and rolled down a hill into a ditch, Const. Nicola Morris said.

There is no word on any charges as the investigation is ongoing. 

The highway has fully reopened to traffic.
