South Simcoe police are joining police services across Ontario in participating in this week’s Crime Prevention Week.

This year’s theme is “Awareness, Engagement, Prevention.”

“Preventing crimes before they can occur is always the best way to keep our communities safe,” South Simcoe said in a news release.

“Most types of crimes are preventable, and Crime Prevention Week is a great opportunity for Ontarians to think about what they can do to keep their families, neighbourhoods, schools, and workplaces safe from criminal activities.”

South Simcoe Police plan to raise awareness about crime prevention through their social media platforms.

Crime Prevention Week runs until Nov. 11.
