Innisfil driver faces impaired charges after RIDE check

The driver had his vehicle impounded and licence suspended as a result

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at approximately 10:20 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were conducting a RIDE program on the 6th Line at Angus Street in the Town of Innisfil. A vehicle approached and then turned away from the area. An officer subsequently conducted a traffic stop.

As a result of an investigation, 59-year-old Rudolph Buczolits of Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - excess alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

The South Simcoe Police Service conducts RIDE programs year round in our ongoing commitment to road safety.  This Thanksgiving weekend we are participating in Operation Impact, a national public awareness and enforcement traffic safety campaign. We urge drivers to buckle up and put the brakes on impaired, distracted and aggressive driving. Let's make this a safe, happy holiday weekend!

On Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, the South Simcoe Police Service responded to 83 calls for service.
