Innisfil man accused of threatening teens with a knife

Police say the 51-year-old was in possession of suspected cocaine

South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged an Innisfil man after some teenagers were threatened and one of them robbed of his hat.

On Sunday, June 14, 2020, around 5:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery call in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and St. Johns Road.  Upon arrival, police learned that a man repeatedly approached a teenager and his friends, demanding the youth's hat and then threatening the group with a knife.

 A suspect was arrested near the scene. 51-year-old Kenneth Boorman of Innisfil was charged with robbery, four counts of uttering threats, four counts of assault with a weapon, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of drugs (suspected cocaine).  

He was released with a future court date.  No one was injured.
