*******************************
Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau have charged one man and two young persons in relation to three commercial robberies in the Region of Peel. A fourth adult male is also charged with possession of stolen property.

It is alleged that on July 21 and July 26, 2023, the accused parties attended two electronic stores in the Region of Peel.

During the first robbery, near Gore Road and Ebenezer Road in Brampton, one armed with a firearm entered the store and ordered all persons inside to lie on the floor. They demanded property and electronics and escaped to a waiting vehicle outside.

It is further alleged that on July 26, 2023, they attended a second store near Mavis Road and Britannia Road in Mississauga. Once inside, armed with a firearm, they demanded property and electronics. A large quantity of electronics was stolen, and they fled the store to a waiting vehicle.

Following a lengthy investigation, police believe the accused parties are also responsible for a robbery that occurred on March 24, 2023, at a pharmacy near Main Street and Steeles Avenue in Brampton. Once inside, armed with a firearm, they demanded money and narcotics. A quantity of both were stolen, and they fled.

Fortunately, no customers or victims working in either electronic stores or the pharmacy sustained any physical injuries during the robberies.

On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, the accused parties were arrested, and a large quantity of stolen property was recovered, along with an imitation firearm and a stolen vehicle.

Nabel Ali, a 25-year-old male from Innisfil, has been charged with the following offences:
    •    Robbery (x3)
    •    Disguise with intent (x3)
    •    Using an imitation firearm (x3)

A 16-year-old male young person from Toronto has been charged with the following offences:
    •    Robbery (x3)
    •    Disguise with intent (x3)
    •    Using an imitation firearm (x3)

A 17-year-old male young person from Toronto has been charged with the following offences:
    •    Robbery (x3)
    •    Disguise with intent (x3)
    •    Using an imitation firearm (x3)

They were held for bail hearings and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Police also charged a fourth person following the July 26, 2023 arrests.

Mohamed Mohamed, a 25-year-old male from Brampton, was charged with possession of stolen property. He will appear at the Brampton Courthouse on Aug. 28, 2023, to answer the charge.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) prohibits the release of the name of a young person, and, therefore, the identity of the young persons charged in this investigation is protected.

This investigation remains ongoing, and police anticipate more charges could be laid.
