Innisfil man charged with fail to remain after collision with fuel truck

Police say the suspect vehicle made no attempt to stop

On Monday, May 3, 2021, at approximately 8:40 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a collision in the County Road 89 and Sideroad 10 area of Innisfil. Once on scene, officers learned that the back of southbound fuel truck was struck by a northbound vehicle that crossed into the southbound lane. The suspect vehicle continued northbound and made no attempt to stop. It was located on the shoulder of the 10th Sideroad and 4th Line and the driver was arrested. There was extensive damage to the front end of the suspect vehicle and moderate damage to the fuel truck. No one was injured.

As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old Christopher Goodeve of Innisfil was charged with fail to remain, drive while under suspension, careless driving and fail to report accident.  The accused was released with a future court date. His vehicle was impounded for seven days.

On Monday, May 3, 2021, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 46 calls for service.
