Innisfil man charged with stunt driving

On Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 6:50 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer was conducting speed enforcement on Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil.

The officer observed a vehicle travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed. A speed measurement was obtained of 96 km/h in a posted 40 km/h zone. Police conducted a traffic stop.  As a result of the investigation, 24-year-old James Hamilton of Innisfil was charged with stunt driving and speeding. His licence was suspended for seven days. His vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days.

According to the Transport Canada Road Safety in Canada Report, single-vehicle crashes accounted for more than 50% of speeding deaths and serious injuries. Slow down and arrive alive.
