Innisfil woman charged with impaired driving after hitting multiple vehicles: Police

Area resident managed to get the vehicle keys away from the accused before police arrived

On Thursday, May 20, 2021 at approximately 4:40 a.m., South Simcoe Police were called to a residential street in Alcona for a report of a vehicle driving around the neighbourhood hitting vehicles. A further report informed Police that a neighbour spoke to the female driver and they believed she was impaired.

Before police arrived, a local resident was able to take the keys to the vehicle away from the driver, preventing her from continuing to drive. Police arrived on scene and found the driver sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle. The driver was arrested and taken to the police station for further investigation and breath tests. The breath test results were well over the legal limit.

The accused, 27-year-old Georgia Crane of Innisfil, was charged with:
    •    Operation while impaired
    •    Operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol
    •    Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
    •    Fail to remain at the scene of a collision
    •    Drive with no licence

The accused was later released and will appear in Provincial Court in June, 2021
