Innisfil woman seriously injured in watercraft collision

An Innisfil woman was sent to hospital Monday night after two personal watercraft collided near Bear Point Place on Lake Simcoe in the Town of Innisfil.

On Monday, July 18, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the two watercraft collided when one suddenly lost power and was rear-ended by a second. The second watercraft was travelling at a distance in line but was unable to steer out to avoid a collision.

The operator of the craft that was struck suffered minor injuries. His female passenger, a 29-year-old Innisfil woman, was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The operator of the second watercraft remained on scene, calling 911 and rendering assistance.
