Man accused of damaging cruiser tazed during arrest

On Friday, July 28, 2023 at approximately 7:45 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service was notified about a male who [is alleged to have] damaged a cruiser parked in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and St. Johns Road in the Town of Innisfil.

When an officer attempted to approach and investigate the male, he refused to comply and fled on foot. A short foot pursuit ensued before the officer lost sight of the male and returned to the cruiser.

The officer remained in the area and with the assistance of passers-by, police located the male who [allegedly] became aggressive with the officer. The officer deployed a conducted energy weapon and the man was taken into custody. There were no injuries.

As a result of an investigation, 46-year-old Krzyztof Krymowski of Innisfil was charged with mischief, assault a peace officer and probation order: non-compliance.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently released.
