A 23-year-old Christian Island woman faces impaired driving charges after police set up a RIDE program on Heritage Drive early Tuesday.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers were stopping vehicles and checking drivers for signs of impairment. They then started speaking to the driver of a red Mitsubishi vehicle and entered into an impaired driving investigation.

Trinity Lyons faces charges of impaired and over 80 in connection with the incident. She was released from custody to appear in court April 11 and was also served with a 90-day driver's licence suspension. As well, the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
