The Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proud to announce the commencement of their Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign.

Running from Nov. 17, 2023, to Jan. 2, 2024, this crucial initiative is led by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and involves a collaborative effort among Ontario police services to ensure our roads remain free from the dangers of alcohol- and drug-impaired driving. Throughout the campaign, officers will maintain a strong presence as they conduct RIDE operations around the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We strongly urge the public to plan alternative transportation when consuming alcohol or drugs. Consider options such as a designated driver, taxi, rideshare, public transit, or arranging to stay overnight to eliminate the risk of impaired driving.

The message is straightforward — choose responsibility this holiday season. If driving sober isn’t an option, refrain from driving altogether. If you encounter an impaired driver, don’t hesitate to make a life-saving call to 911.

For more information on the consequences and penalties of driving impaired, visit www.ontario.ca/page/impaired-driving.
