Barrie police are searching for a Team Canada jersey signed by Sidney Crosby that was stolen Jan. 2.
Police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday a few items were taken from a King City residence in York Region on Sunday and tracked to Barrie.
"The jersey, along with other items, were in a bin that had been stolen from a home. Also in that bin was an old cellphone which was able to be tracked and is how we located the items and the accused," Leon said.
An 18-year-old Barrie man, of no fixed address, has been charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine).
"The jersey was not in the bin and we are not able to locate it currently, but are hoping someone will see this and know of its whereabouts," Leon said.
