Pickup truck tangles with hydro pole in Barrie's south end

City police are investigating a single-vehicle crash on Essa Road in Barrie which damaged a hydro pole on Thursday morning.

Police say a pickup truck was involved, and a hydro pole appeared to be severely damaged. 

The incident happened on Essa, between Ardagh Road and Beacon Road, in the city's south end at 6:25 a.m. on Dec. 21.

“There doesn’t appear to be any injuries, and there doesn’t appear to be anything criminal,” Barrie police communications coordinator Jennett Mays told BarrieToday.

Police say they have now cleared the scene, while hydro crews continue to repair the damage.
