Police investigating suspicious vehicle reports in Alliston, Thornton

Both reports, which came a week apart, involved a grey vehicle

Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public's assistance in regards to two similar reports of a suspicious vehicle.

On June 23, 2021 at approximately 1:30 p.m. a grey/silver sedan approached a lone female in the Tupper Blvd. area in Alliston.

The unknown male initially asked the female for directions and then asked her to get into the vehicle. The female was able to walk away from the vehicle.

The male was described as:

  • approximately 36 years of age
  • moustache and beard (dark hair)
  • wearing a toque
  • Middle Eastern

On June 30, 2021 at approximately 11:54 a.m. a grey four-door vehicle with tinted windows approached two female youth while they were walking in the area of Robert St. and Barrie St. in Thornton.

The unknown male offered them candy and asked them to get into his backseat. The youth declined and continued walking.

The male was described as:

  • approximately 40
  • white with tanned skin
  • dark facial hair
  • short dark hair on top, buzz cut on sides

Police are looking to speak with the driver of the grey vehicle, or with any witnesses that may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the vehicle or male involved in this incident, may have dash camera footage, or home security footage, is asked to contact the Nottawasaga OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
