Police release suspect images in morning assault investigation

Victim transported to Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries following attack at Meridian Place

The Barrie Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public in identifying a number of suspects who are wanted for an assault that sent a male victim to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.

This morning at 12:53 a.m., officers from Barrie Police responded to 87 Dunlop St. E. for a report of a fight involving a 58-year-old male and a group of three male suspects and a female.

Upon arrival at the scene, police located the victim who had sustained serious facial injuries. He was immediately transported to a local hospital by the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services and was later transported by air ambulance to a Toronto area trauma centre where he remains at this time.

Detectives from the Service’s Criminal Investigation Division are currently conducting this ongoing investigation and have obtained video surveillance of the incident as it unfolded. The video clearly identifies the suspects being sought for this aggravated assault and still photos of the suspects are attached to this media release.
