Heavily armed police were seen searching for a wanted person near Barrie's downtown this morning.
At 10:08 a.m. on April 23, a police tactical unit was used as they searched an address in the area of Maple Avenue and Sophia Street.
“We were looking for a wanted person, and the person was not there,” Barrie police communications coordinator Peter Leon said.
Police did not offer any further information about the investigation or who they were looking for.
