It has been 13 years since 42-year-old Sonia Varaschin was murdered and investigators have never stopped searching for her killer, a news release says.
Investigators are once again asking for the public's assistance.
A $50,000 reward is still being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder. More than 1,500 tips have been received so far.
On Aug. 30, 2010, officers from the former Orangeville Police Service began an investigation after Varaschin's white Toyota Corolla was found abandoned behind a business on Broadway in downtown Orangeville. On the same day, Orangeville police requested assistance from Ontario Provincial Police.
On Sept. 5, 2010, Varaschin's remains were found in a wooded area just off of Beechgrove Side Road in Caledon.
The homicide investigation remains active under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. The OPP says it will never close an unsolved homicide.
