Single vehicle collision in south end Barrie leaves one man dead

Police say the driver was ejected from the vehicle after it left the road and rolled 'a number of times'

Barrie Police received a call at 8:40 p.m. Saturday night of a single vehicle collision involving a 31-year-old man, not from Barrie.

The incident happened on Essa Road, just south of McKay Road and saw the area closed for several hours.

Communications coordinator Peter Leon said the “vehicle left the road, rolled a number of times with the driver being ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The investigation by the Barrie Police Traffic Unit remains ongoing.
