South Simcoe police say they charged motorists with stunt driving in two separate incidents on the morning of Jan. 23.

Two drivers allegedly had the need for speed on South Simcoe police-patrolled roadways Tuesday morning.

The department reports drivers were charged with stunt driving in two separate incidents Jan. 23. In the first case, a 29-year-old Bolton woman was stopped for apparently travelling 132 kilometres per hour in a 60 km/h zone on the 5th Line in Bradford.

A second incident involved a vehicle clocked at 144 km/h in an 80 zone along Yonge Street, between the 2nd and 3rd lines, in Innisfil. Here, a 23-year-old Barrie man was charged.

Police say both drivers were also handed 30-day licence suspensions, while their vehicles were impounded for 14 days.
