Stopped for speeding, woman charged with impaired driving

On Friday, March 1, 2024 at approximately 1:15 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding on Dissette Street in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

The driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested following a roadside alcohol-screening device test. As a result of an investigation, a 21-year-old Bradford woman was charged with operation while impaired, and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol.

Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.
