Three drivers charged with impaired after weekend incidents

South Simcoe police charged three drivers with impaired driving over the weekend in the area.

On Sunday at approximately 10 a.m., the South Simcoe Police Service received a report of a potentially impaired driver in the area of 10th Line and 25th Sideroad in Innisfil. Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver.

As a result, Daniel Runge, 62, has been charged with operation while impaired by drug.

On Friday at approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Innisfil Beach Road and Sideroad 5 in Innisfil.

There were no injuries as a result of the crash, but charges have been laid. 

Nishitkumar Gamadia, 29, of Brampton, was charged with operation while impaired, careless driving, drive motor vehicle liquor readily available, having care or control of a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor, drive motor vehicle no current validated permit, and obstruct plate.  

On Saturday at approximately 9:50 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Holland Street West and Miller Park Avenue in Bradford.

Two people from one of the vehicles involved were taken to hospital with minor injuries while the driver of the other vehicle was arrested.

Adhair Mejia Velazquez, 31, of Bradford, was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol, and dangerous operation.

All three drivers had their licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days.

None of the allegations against any of the accused have been tested in court.
