Traffic stop leads to impaired charges for novice driver

The 20-year-old was stopped after police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver

On Thursday, May 20, 2021, at approximately 7:50 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in Innisfil.

A traffic stop was conducted on Innisfil Beach Road near 25th Sideroad and the driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, 20-year-old James Slok of Innisfil was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired,
  • Operation While Impaired - Excess Blood Alcohol and
  • Novice Driver - B.A.C. above zero.  

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
