On Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at approximately 8:22 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and Barrie Street in Thornton.
As a result of an investigation, a 49-year-old Barrie man was charged with operation while impaired, and operation while impaired (excess blood-alcohol). His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
Drivers are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs in their system is safe when driving. If you know or suspect someone is driving impaired, call 911. In doing so, you may save a life.
