Truck linked to drive-by shootings at local movie theatres, police say

Glass front door shot out at movie theatre in Richmond Hill; similar incident happened in Vaughan

York Regional Police are linking a suspect vehicle to four shootings at movie theatres across the Greater Toronto Area, including in York Region.

On Jan. 24, police were called to a theatre at Highway 7 and East Beaver Creek in Richmond Hill, after an employee arrived for work and found the glass front entry doors had been shot.

The same day, police in Vaughan responded to a similar call at a theatre at Highway 7 and Weston Road.

Investigators believe the same suspects are involved in both occurrences in York Region and in similar shootings at cinemas in Toronto and Peel Region the same night, YRP said in a release.
