One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Innisfil Sunday evening.
Emergency personnel responded to the head-on collision, which occurred on Yonge Street, near the 6th Line, March 10 at about 7:50 p.m., South Simcoe police confirmed to InnisfilToday.
One of the drivers, a 29-year-old Innisfil man, was taken by County of Simcoe paramedics to a local hospital, but was then transferred to a Toronto trauma centre. He is listed in serious but stable condition, police say.
The other driver, a 61-year-old Innisfil resident, was transported to a local hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
Yonge was closed for several hours as a result of the collision.
“The investigation is ongoing,” South Simcoe spokesperson Sue Sgambati said in an email Tuesday morning. “(We) are appealing to witnesses and anyone with dash camera footage to contact police.”
