A Barrie police officer removes a metalworking lathe from a Huronia Road home in the city's south end on Thursday afternoon.

Barrie police officers were seen removing evidence from a Huronia Road home on Thursday afternoon, including a metalworking lathe and various other tools.

At the south-end scene, near Little Avenue, police also had several evidence bags containing smaller items.

An officer on the scene did not offer much information when questioned by BarrieToday.

However, he said the raid is not related to Wednesday's bomb incident on Anne Street North, which occurred around 3 a.m., Sept. 27. That investigation remains ongoing.

A heavily armed tactical police unit was involved with the raid at the Huronia Road home on Thursday, which happened around 3 p.m., Sept. 28.

An armoured police vehicle, along with officers brandishing shields and weapons, could also be seen at the south-end location.

“It pertains to an ongoing investigation. Further information will be provided when the investigation permits,” Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday earlier in the afternoon

BarrieToday will have more information as it becomes available.
