York Regional Police are investigating multiple "disturbing acts" of targeted vandalism involving spray-painted graffiti and a skinned goat head thrown through a window of a house in Vaughan last week.
Police were called to a home near Melville Avenue and Hudson Drive last Wednesday, Oct. 25, after a resident had found swear words spray-painted on an SUV in their driveway and on the garage door, according to a news release.
Investigators determined two men had been observed in the area at approximately 2:14 a.m. One of the suspects is seen walking up the driveway, smashing the vehicle’s windows and spray-painting graffiti on it. He then sprays more graffiti on the garage. The second suspect appears to be standing on the sidewalk as a lookout, police said.
On Oct. 27 at around 3:45 a.m., a resident reported a skinned goat head had been thrown through the front window of the same home. When police arrived, they found three vehicles in the driveway had graffiti spray-painted on them and stick figures were spray-painted on the walkway, where a second goat head was located.
Later that same day, police were called to a home in the area of Weston Road and Villa Royale Avenue, where two skinned goat heads had been left on their front doorstep and a threat was spray-painted on the walkway.
Investigators believe the incidents are targeted and that the same suspects are responsible for the three incidents.
"It’s believed the second home the suspects attended was a mistaken target," police added.
