Walls spray-painted inside Barrie home during break-in

Fire extinguisher also discharged throughout the house; police seeking information about suspicious vehicles or people in area

City police are investigating after vandals broke into a home and caused damage, Thursday night.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on April 11, officers responded to a report of an audible alarm and flashing lights coming from a home in northeast Barrie, according to a police news release.

Upon arrival on the scene, police found the glass in the rear patio door had been broken and walls in the house had been spray-painted.

A fire extinguisher had also been discharged throughout the main and basement floor levels of the house.

At present, no suspects have been identified and the investigation is continuing, according to police.

Police say a canvass of the immediate area was conducted last night and investigators will be following up on information which was received in the coming days.
