Despite today's report, the medical officer of health for the region says local COVID-19 infections are on an 'upward trajectory'

The province has now processed more than 3-million COVID-19 tests since January

The incidence of cases in youth in the region doubled last month compared to July

Today's new cases include a Barrie boy under 18. The health unit has confirmed seven cases of COVID in Barrie children under 18 since Aug. 25

There are currently 1,240 active, lab-confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the province

Loans up to $5,000 provided under Canada United Small Business Relief Fund

Three of the cases are Barrie residents

The province also confirmed a new COVID-related death

There is also one new death included in today's update

Catholic students won't start going back to school until Sept. 10, and will still follow a staggered start
