Police lay charges after responded to call of suspected impaired driver

Police say they located the vehicle in question at a nearby address and the driver was arrested

On Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 5:51 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched to the area of Melbourne Drive and Holland Street West in Bradford for a report of a suspected impaired driver.

Police located the vehicle in question at a nearby address and the driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, 50-year-old Rodrigo Arriaga Velazquez of Bradford was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess
blood alcohol, novice driver - BAC above zero.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
