Walter Boyd

Walter Boyd in his 94th year passed away peacefully Oct 4, 2023, at RVH Hospital. A lifetime resident of Innisfil, Walter was known for his love of farming and ice fishing but what defined him was his long-term fight with Polio. While Walter may have been one of the longest survivors in Canada of Polio, he would endure fighting the effects daily but that never stopped him from living life.
Walter was a founding member of the Bosecour Track and Trail started in 1974 and spent many a winter grooming trails for all to enjoy. He also worked for the Township of Innisfil plowing roads. He worked hard in the summer farming and played hard in the winter.
Walter is pre-deceased by his parents Calvin and Mary Jane Boyd and his beloved wife Dorothy Boyd (Pratt) He is survived by his sisters Bernice O’Neill (Lewis) and Doreen Sutton (Ross) and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed greatly by many neighbours and friends, especially at the coffee shop.

Visitation at Innisfil Funeral Home 7910 Yonge Street Innisfil, Ontario Oct 15, 2023, 2 - 4 pm and 7- 9 pm and funeral Monday Oct 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Service in chapel and reception to follow.
