Peter “Vern” Ferguson, 58, of Stroud, Innisfil, died on Tuesday, November 14th, in his sleep from suspected heart disease. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, he was a great father and an award-winning audio producer who aided in the success of many rock-centric radio stations like Halifax’s Q104 and Barrie’s Rock 95, in addition to his own production company, The Control Room. Alongside his esteemed career as a broadcaster, voice coach, live sound engineer and, later in life, a part-time baker at Costco, Ferguson brought light to every room he entered, offering a helping hand to anyone in need. He proudly leaves behind a son, Christian Ferguson, three brothers, Scott, John and Glen Ferguson, and his partner, Pamela Dupuis, whom he loved dearly. His celebration of life will be held sometime in the Spring, and updates will be posted to Vanessa Ferguson’s Facebook page. Rock on, Pete. Your legacy will prosper through the echos of your sound.
