It is with great sorrow that the Ormsby and Donnelly families announce the passing of John at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at the age of 79 years. John now joins his beloved companion and spouse, Anne Donnelly who has predeceased him.
He will be sadly missed by his niece Gail (Bernie) of Courtice, his nephews Paul (Sharon) of Wasaga Beach and Mark (Deborah) of Brighton Australia as well as brothers & sisters in-law Colleen Chassie (Larry) of North Bay, Joyce Carnegie (Jim -deceased) of Kitchener, Kerry Reid (Willie) of Kenabeek and Kevin (Rhonda) of North Bay.
John was predeceased by his parents Spencer and Elizabeth Houston Ormsby, residents of Scotland.
John emigrated to Canada from Scotland at a young age and had a long interesting career with the Royal Bank of Canada. He loved golf, as any true Scotsman would, as well as his hockey and baseball teams – the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He loved music and entertained family with his guitar on many occasions.
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors of units D3 and B1 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre as well as the staff at Empire Living Centre, along with Dr. Mossman of Barrie, John and Anne’s family physician for many years.
As per his wishes cremation has been held and a private family service will be held at a later date.
