Bill was a passionate learner, from memorizing Shakespeare soliloquies to solving mathematical proofs. Bill’s wide smile lit up the room, his presence beamed with an unmistakable joie de vivre. Bill loved his family and was most at home cooking delicious meals and playing mahjong with them. He spent his final years doing all of these things in his home in The Blue Mountains.

Bill was a trivia maestro, reflected by his diverse interests and hobbies. He wrote witty world cup commentary. He loved mowing his farm with his bright orange tractor. He explored new hiking paths with Moshi and his family by his side. He pored over local and world news at his dining table. And in true Yit fashion - he loved to build and mend with his hands - rabbit hutches, pantry shelves, garden beds.

And while he may be gone too soon, his family is strong like him and will carry on with the loving memories and affection he brought into our lives.

In lieu of holding a service this week, we will hold a Celebration of Life gathering. We will be in touch with details and hope to see you then.

Until then, we would really appreciate it if you could share a few words with us on the digital memorial board at https://www.legacyfuneralandcremationservices.ca/obituary/Bill-Yit

In lieu of flowers please send donations to BVO.ca.
